MARY BASSETT SHEMON

Kansas City flutist, Mary Bassett Shemon is in high demand as a performer and clinician throughout the Midwest. Highlights from last season included performing with the Kansas City Symphony and subbing with the Saint Louis Symphony. Mary is thrilled to be working with the flute students at the University of Kansas this year as guest flute lecturer. A passionate performer and teacher, Mrs. Shemon enjoys working with students of all ages.

Mrs. Shemon received her Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University and her Master of Music from the University of Southern California. Among her teachers are Mark Sparks and Jennifer Nitchman of the Saint Louis Symphony, Jim Walker of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as well as Richard Graef and Walfrid Kujala of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra
