ABOUT

Hailed by The Boston Musical Intelligencer as a 'young artist who performs with verve and highly polished virtuosity', Shah Sadikov enjoys an exciting career as a conductor, violist, and music educator. Now in his 3rd season as Music Director of the Hays Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Sadikov is also an assistant professor of upper strings and orchestra director at Fort Hays State University.

In 2015, Mr. Sadikov co-founded and became the CEO and conductor of a non-for-profit arts organization, NAVO (navoarts.com), whose mission is to create unique programs that challenge, entertain, and enrich the lives of underserved communities in the Midwest. This season NAVO will release its debut CD featuring the world premiere of Ingrid Stölzel’s Autumn’s Orchestra, and perform the Kansas premieres of Schnittke’s Concerto for Piano and Strings with Steven Spooner, Rihm’s Chiffre 1 and 2, and Pintscher’s A Twilight Song.

 

Mr. Sadikov appeared as a conductor, soloist, and principal violist with the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Radio Chamber Orchestra of Uzbekistan. He also conducted ensembles such as the Aspen Festival Orchestra, Aspen Chamber Symphony, Berlin Sinfonietta, Kansas City Civic Orchestra, Kansas Wesleyan Chamber Orchestra, Medomak Symphony Orchestra, and newEar Contemporary Ensemble among others.
