GLORIA BRITEZ SCOLARI

Paraguayan violist Gloria Britez Scolari has been in the Kansas City area since 2012. Currently performing with the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and the Topeka Symphony, she is also extremely committed to music education, maintaining her private studio, and as a violin/viola instructor at the UMKC Conservatory Academy, and the Musical Bridges Program.

Gloria has previously worked with other El-Sistema inspired organizations, such as Harmony Project KC, and Proyecto Sonidos de la Tierra (Paraguay), traveling cross-country to teach music to children residing in underprivileged communities in the Paraguayan countryside. 

​

She has performed in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, and the United States of America; in venues including the Carnegie Hall in New York and Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, as a member of orchestras such as YOA Orchestra of the Americas, Camerata Miranda, and chamber groups. As a soloist, she performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Asuncion and Camerata Miranda, collaborating with conductors Miguel A. Echeverria and Javier Aquino (Paraguay), Norberto Garcia (Argentina), and Selim Giray (Turkey).

Gloria holds a Masters Degree in Viola Performance from UMKC, completed under the guidance of violist Scott Lee.
